General Notes: Husband - Thomas Moffitt


He and his wife emigrated from Ireland to America about 1830. The family resided in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, until the early 1840s, residing near Girard College and attending Christ Episcopal Church.
He applied for U. S. citizenship on Sept. 25, 1838, after residing in America for at least five years and at least one year in Pennsylvania. He was granted citizenship in the Philadelphia Court of Quarter Sessions on Oct. 6, 1840.
