General Notes: Husband - Christian Scholl

---

He was a farmer, a republican, and a mem-ber of the United Presbyterian church. He was the father of three daughters, two of whom died in their infancy, and four sons-one of whom died when about fourteen years old, and two of whom were farmers.

He managed the home farm, his siblings working at their trades. Eventually he and David became joint owners of the estate which was purchased in 1871 by Christian and his son, William L. Mr. Scholl, though ever ready to do his part toward achieving betterment of conditions in the community, always held aloof from politics and from public office. He was a member of the United Presbyterian church of West Newton.
