General Notes: Husband - William I. Robinson

He was educated in the State Normal School at Millersville, Pennsylvania. After completing his course of study he taught in the public schools of Bolivar and Blacklick, and then, in connection with his father and brother-in-law, William L. Winkle, rebuilt what is known as Reese and Hammond Fire Brick, No. 1. This he operated three years, and then entered into partnership with Mr. Winkle under the firm name of Winkle and Robinson. They bought and rebuilt the Enterprise, or Lincoln Fire Brick works in 1878, and in 1881 sold out to the firm of Murtland and Scott, of Pittsburgh. Mr. Robinson remained as superintendent until 1887, and then, in partnership with his brother, Thomas J., built the Garfield Clay works at Robinson, one of the leading enterprises of the place, employing a large number of men both in Robinson and Bolivar. They manufactured all sorts and shapes of fire bricks. He was a member of the firm of Robinson and Company, and was president and superintendent of the Garfield Fire Clay Company. He was much interested in educational work, and for several years served as school director. He was a charter member of Maccabees of the World, No. 27, and also of the W. W., No. 51. In politics he was a Prohibitionist, and in religion a member of the Methodist Episcopal church, of which he was a steward.
