Reared on the home farm, he was engaged in agricultural pursuits during his active life, and succeeded to the ownership of the farm on which his birth occurred. When ready to give up the active management of the estate, he moved to London, Pennsylvania, and there lived retired until his death, at the age of sixty-five years.
