General Notes: Husband - George M. Bagnall

came to America in 1828 in a sailing ship, and was six weeks on the ocean, landing at New York harbor. From that point he found his way to Mercer County, Pennsylvania, arriving the same year. He located about three miles west of Mercer, in what was then a wilderness. He was accompanied by his parents and he helped his father to clear up the forests and make a home within the wilderness and there he spent his days. Politically George M. Bagnall first was a Whig and then a Republican. He took an active part in the affairs of his township and county, serving as township official in several capacities, including that of school director, which office he filled many years.
