David R. Lusher
David R. Lusher, aged 82, died at 10 a. m. Monday at his home in Rockland, after a long illness.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Cola Dingee, of Oregon, a sister, Mrs. Nan Gilger, with whom he made his home, and a brother, Rev. John Lusher of Parker.
Mr. Lusher was a former school teacher and an entertaining conversationalist. His readings at the annual Lusher reunions were always one of the features of the informal entertainments.

Funeral services for Mrs. D. R. Lusher, who died on Thursday last, were held at the M. E. church Saturday afternoon, May 1st, Rev. A. J. Neufeld officiating.
Maggie D. Linn was born at Rockland, Pennsylvania, Sept. 21st, 1862. She was married to D. R. Lusher on October 1st, 1891, and in October of that year they came to the state of Washington to make their home. They homesteaded in Spokane county and in 1902 came to Newport which has since been their home.
Mrs. Lusher was educated in the public schools of her native state and also attended the state normal school at Edinboro, N. D. She taught school in that state for several years and also taught in Spokane and Stevens counties.
Her husband, one daughter, Miss Ruby, and two brothers and one sister, are left to mourn her passing. She was a life long member of the Methodist church, and her life was an exemplification of Christian faith.
