General Notes: Husband - Philip Spangler

He was a native of Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. Coming to Cumberland County in his boyhood, on reaching maturity he settled in Dickinson township, about seven miles southwest of Carlisle. He bought about 500 acres of land, a large part of which was woodland, and there carried on farming.
