General Notes: Husband - John H. Oliver

He was born in Washington, Washington County, Pennsylvania. At the age of fifteen years he came to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, where he apprenticed himself to a tinner, in order to learn this trade. He followed this calling, throughout his business years, having his own establishment for thirteen years until his retirement in 1880. While learning his trade he lived with the family of John Lenfestey, and later married one of the daughters of this family. In 1873 he removed to Old Mansfield (later Carnegie), and there spent a part of his time in business occupations until his death.
He was a Republican, and served as a member of the school board and the common council.
