He was born in Franklinville, New York, where he was educated and grew to manhood. After his marriage and the birth of some of his children he moved to Smethport, Pennsylvania, where he was a farmer until his death at the age of forty-three years. He was a member of the Methodist Episcopal church, as was his wife

There are significant problems with the dates given by the source for this man and his children. Supposedly, he died in 1845, but dates of birth are given for his children after 1845.
