General Notes: Husband - David Kerr

From an Upton family history:
The Kerr Family was either of Scotch-Irish or Welsh extraction. Tradition tells us that two brothers-one of them Samuel Kerr, progenitor of our family-came to America from the County of Tyrone in Northern Ireland, settling in the Frankstown, Blair County, Pennsylvania, area (it was then Huntingdon County). They arrived here about 1786. One of the brothers is said to have taken cholera and died shortly after his arrival in the new world. About 1800, Samuel Kerr and family emigrated from Frankstown to northwestern Pennsylvania, settling in northeastern Oil Creek Township, Crawford County. They settled in the area that was later known as Shelmadine Springs.
However, it appears that the author has confused his ancestor with another Samuel Kerr, husband of Fannie Alcorn, so it is not clear how much of the above information relates to the father of this David Kerr.

General Notes: Wife - Esther Ann Shelmadine

Another source gives her date of death as Jun 22, 1873.
