General Notes: Husband - Elijah Smith

He and his wife were natives of Massachusetts, who first settled in Chenango County, New York, and then with a family of four children came to Columbus, Warren County, Pennsylvania, in 1825. He was an extensive land holder, lumber dealer, shipper, and farmer.
He was a justice of the peace and commissioner, and one of the leading men of his town and county. He retired from active business life in 1845.
