General Notes: Husband - Dixon Huston

He was reared on his father's farm. On arriving at man's estate he found employment on the Pennsylvania Railroad which was then in process of construction. Upon its completion he became road foreman, a position which he filled for a number of years, remaining, in all, twenty-three years in the service of the company. In 1881 he moved to his farm of forty-seven acres and one hundred and forty-seven perches, very near Ligonier. This farm he purchased in 1877 from H. S. and R. Baker, car builders of Latrobe, they having erected all the buildings on the place. Later Mr. Huston bought a forty-six acre tract which he cultivated in connection with the former piece of land. Previous to his death he sold the forty-six acres, and he also sold for building lots the tract he had first purchased. The land that remains became the farm of his son, Joseph Lee. Mr. Huston was an ardent Democrat.
