General Notes: Husband - Elias Hennage

He was born in Shrewsbury, York County, Pennsylvania. For a time he attended the public schools of his native town, which he left before graduation to begin learning the carpenter's trade at Shippensville, Clarion County, Pennsylvania. When eighteen years of age he moved to Clarion County, Pennsylvania, where he became prominent in the politics of the town of Fertigs, holding the offices of supervisor, school director and several others. He and his wife were members of the Methodist Episcopal church, in which he was a deacon for many years.
