General Notes: Husband - William Specht


He received a good education in the public school, and in 1851 came to the United States settling in Smethport, McKean County, Pennsylvania, where he worked at cabinetmaking. Later he established and conducted a large, successful furniture and undertaking business, under the firm name of Specht & Sasse, his partner being his half-brother, Carl Sasse. He was a Republican in politics and for two terms served as borough councilman.
