General Notes: Husband - Andrew Jackson Harper

He was born in Jackson township, Butler County, PA, and spent his entire life in his native township amid the peaceful scenes of agricultural pursuits. He was an adherent of the Democratic party, but supported Lincoln in 1860, and 1864, after which time he voted the Democratic ticket. In 1883 he was elected a county auditor, and filled the office of justice of the peace for more than ten years. Over the course of thirty years he occupied at various times most of the public offices in his township. He was a member of no church or society, nevertheless he was one of the most respected citizens of the community, and his long and busy life was marked by the commendable virtues of honesty, industry and sobriety.
