General Notes: Husband - John Head

He was brought up a farmer. In 1836 he removed from Frederick County, Maryland, to Youngstown, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, and remained there until his death. He was a Whig in the early part of the last century, but became a Democrat in the first Jackson campaign. He was born an Episcopalian, of which his ancestors were members, but became a Roman Catholic.

He was born in Maryland, came west and settled at Youngstown, Pennsylvania, in the year 1836, and there founded the Westmoreland County branch of the family.

He and his wife were the parents of eight children.
