- The dwelling house of D. E. Ziegler, at Hill City, Cranberry township, was burned to the ground last Saturday afternoon, with its contents. Mrs. Ziegler had her hands and face severely burned and barely escaped with her life. Mr. John Hoy was badly scorched while trying to save some of the furniture. The loss is about $400.

Funeral services for David E. Ziegler, 90, former city resident, who died at 1:15 p.m. Friday in his home at Erie, will be held at 2 p.m. Monday in the Wood-Firman Funeral Home, Erie, and interment will be in that city.
Mr. Ziegler was born in Maple Shade on March 1, 1860.
Survivors include his wife, Maude, of Erie; a daughter, Beulah Bitters and a son, DeWayne, both of Erie; a sister, Mrs. W. B. Shaffer of Sharpsville; eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

Funeral services in memory of Mrs. Jennie Zeigler, wife of David E. Zeigler and a former resident of this city (Oil City) whose death occurred late Friday night at Hamot Hospital in Erie following serious burns sustained election day about a bonfire in the yard at her home, were held at 2:30 o;clock yesterday afternoon at the family home, 311 Sassafras street, in Erie. The services were attended by a large concourse of relatives and friends, many of whom were from Oil City.
The services were in charge of Reverend Thomas R. Thoburn, of Erie, a former pastor of Trinity M. E. Church of this city. The interment followed in Lakeview cemetery the following friends bearing the pall: Thomas Melvan, Conrad Hess, A.. G. Boutell, Daniel Murphy and George Baumbach, all of Erie.
The following friends and relatives were present from away: Mrs. David Mullen of Olean, N.Y.; Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Fye of Waynesburg, Mrs. and Mrs. A. L. Reed of Elwood city, Mrs. George Zeigler and Miss Hazel Zeigler of Beaver, Mrs. Bloom of Bradford, D. A. Fye of Rogersville, J. H. Sheffer and Miss Hazel Sheffer of Knox, Mrs. S. F. Clark, Mrs. H. L. Dale, Mrs. Agnes A Kline, Mrs. John Daum, Mr. and Mrs. William Zeigler, Fisher Zeigler, Mr. and Mrs. D. L. Fye, Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Ladds, Mrs. S. J. Fye and daughter, Miss Grace, all of Oil City, and Mr.and Mrs. W. F. Sheffer of Ten Mile bottom.
