General Notes: Husband - Joseph E. Franklin


He attended the public schools of Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, and then learned the machinist's trade. For a time he was interested in railroading and was fireman and later an engineer on the Baltimore & Ohio Railroad. In 1886 he moved to Butler and established the Franklin Company, Ltd., makers of oil well supplies. He later lived retired in Butler. He was a Republican, a member of the English Lutheran Church, and the Tarentum Lodge, Free and Accepted Masons.
