Robert Graham
Robert Graham, aged 86 years, one of Sandycreek township's best known residents and a pioneer Prohibitionist, died at 8:10 o'clock Tuesday night at his home, after an illness of ten days.
On March 6th Mr. Graham suffered a partial paralytic stroke. This was followed four days later with another, rendering his right side powerless and making a fatal result inevitable. Notwithstanding the severe nature of his illness, a naturally strong constitution preserved into advanced years through correct habits enabled him to hold out in a wonderful manner. In the earlier stages he was entirely concious and able to recognize his friends and to talk to them, though with difficulty. From the first he recognized the fatal nature of his illness, was fully resigned and gave directions for his funeral.
Mr. Graham was born September 2, 1828, in Sandycreek township. He was a resident of Sandycreek township all his life and a farmer. For nearly thirty years he was an ardent party Prohibitionist. In a concious moment during his last illness he said that he had hoped that he would live to see the Prohibitionists win.
Mr. Graham married Catherine D. Foster September 4, 1856. Of their children eight are living and all of these were at his bedside at the end. The surviving children are as follows: Mrs. Flora M. Pringle, of near Dempseytown; Mrs. Mary P. Davis, at home; Keifer M. Graham, of Sandycreek township; Mrs. Ruth E. Linn, of Van; Harry A. Graham, of Sandycreek township; James F. Graham, of Emlenton; Orrin H. Graham, at home, and Mrs. Cora B. Pyle, of Sandycreek township. Two brothers also survive him: Alexander and Madison, both of Sandycreek township.
He also leaves twenty-five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Mr. Graham lived a consistent Christian life and by precept and example exercised a splendid influence on those who came in contact with him.
The East Grove church was filled with the relatives and friends of Robert Graham Friday afternoon, on the occasion of the funeral services of that venerable resident of Bully Hill, following a brief prayer service at the house. Rev. J. E. Hillard, of Polk, officiated at both places. The services were befitting the passing of a man in a community and had lived his life so well. The interment followed in the Graham cemetery, the following relatives acting as pall-bearers: Archibald Graham, Carl Graham, Bruce Graham, Ralph Seifer, Floyd Linn and Otis Linn.

General Notes: Wife - Catharine Olive Foster
