General Notes: Husband - Albert R. McMillan

He attended the common schools of the township in which he was born until twelve years of age, when he practically began to earn his own living. The first three years he was engaged in farm work, and at the expiration of this period of time, in 1878, secured employment in the paper mills of C. P. Markle & Son at West Newton, Pennsylvania, where with the exception of a short period of time he worked up to 1892. He resigned from this in order to accept the superintendency of the West Newton Municipal Electric Light plant, which position he held for several years, and for a short time thereafter was employed in the United States Radiator Works at West Newton.
Mr. McMillan served several years as a member of the school board of West Newton (at least three terms). He was a Republican in politics. He was a member of West Newton Lodge, No. 440, I. O. O. F. ; Dieu Le Vent Lodge, No. 348, F. and A. M. ; and K. of M., in which he was assistant recorder.

He and his wife were the parents of five children; three survived in 1905.
