He was a Lutheran minister, who died, while yet a young man, in Greensburg, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania.

He was a native of York, Pennsylvania, and had charge of various Lutheran churches in Westmoreland County and finally became pastor of Zion Church in Greensburg.
