General Notes: Husband - Andrew Dunlap

He was brought to the United States from County Derry, Ireland, when he was but two years old, the journey taking thirteen weeks in a sailing vessel, and the family eventually settled in Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania. He secured his education in a log schoolhouse situated at Warren (now Apollo), Pennsylvania, and during his earlier years his home was a little log cabin. On reaching manhood he settled on a tract of 200 acres on which he built a home and sawmill, on Beaver run. In addition to farming and lumbering Mr. Dunlap followed teaming, hauling iron ore from Bellefonte to Pittsburgh, with a six horse team, it being necessary for him to carry about fifty bushels of oats for feed. Later he sold his first farm and removed to Harrisville, Butler County, there purchasing another tract of 200 acres and continuing to engage in farming and stock raising until his death, which occurred when he was eighty years of age.

He was a babe when his father immigrated to America. He was reared in Washington township, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, where he lived till 1840 when he sold the home farm, removed to Butler County, and later died at the age of eighty-five years and five months. He was a farmer and a democrat and sent a substitute to the War of 1812 by the name of Stewart.

General Notes: Wife - Mary "Polly" Robinson

The source gives the year of her death as 1862, but states that she died when her son William R. was thirteen years old, and gives the year of his birth as 1829.
