He was born in East Mahoning township, Indiana County, Pennsylvania, and there he grew to manhood's estate. Like his father, he became a farmer, locating on part of the homestead, which was known as Point Breeze farm. There he erected a residence and made other improvements, carrying on farming and stock raising until his death.
