General Notes: Husband - John Wakefield

---

He and his wife were married in 1786, and moved to Nelson County, Kentucky, in 1787. In emigrating on this long journey through the wilderness, their persons, provisions, cooking utensils, and other effects, were transported on horseback. Twenty miles north of Bardstown, on Ashes Creek, they purchased one thousand acres of land, densely covered with beautiful timber of poplar, walnut, oak, hickory, ash, &c.
