General Notes: Husband - John H. Alexander


He was born and reared on a farm, the pursuits of which he followed for thirty years on the family place, 400 acres of land on Miller's run, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania. He learned the trade of a carpenter, which he followed for thirteen years. He served as a school director; was a member of the M. E. Church; in politics was a republican.

He and his wife were the parents of twelve children; nine were still living in 1889.
