General Notes: Husband - Dr. John B. Donaldson
His early education was obtained in the common schools, and he afterward attended the old Bethel Academy in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania. He then read medicine with his father for some time, and in 1872 graduated from the Cleveland Medical College, He commenced practicing at Pittsburgh, Allegheny County, where he remained for one year, then moved to Bridgeville, and in 1878 settled in Canonsburg, Washington County, where he practiced his profession, giving special attention to diseases of the throat and nose.
In politics Dr. Donaldson was a Republican; in 1888 he was elected to the State Legislature, and he also served in various minor offices. He was a member of the Masonic fraternity, and in religious faith was a member of the Presbyterian Church.
He was educated in the common schools, at Bethel Academy and the Western Reserve University, of Cleveland, Ohio, and was graduated from the medical department of that institution in 1872. He located for one year at Mt. Lebanon and then moved to Bridgeville, where he practiced medicine for five years. In 1878 he came to Canonsburg. He took a prominent part in the medical affairs of Washington County, for several years serving as secretary of the county organization, and belonged also to the State and to the American Medical Associations. In his political views he was a Republican, and served as burgess and as a member of the council, and also on the School Board. During 1889-1890 he was a member of the Pennsylvania General Assembly.
