General Notes: Husband - David C. Marshall
He spent his boyhood and youth at home in Beaver County, Pennsylvania, and on attaining his majority bought the Roberson farm of 104 acres in Wayne township, Lawrence County, a great portion of which he cleared in the subsequent years of his occupancy. In 1857 he built a home on it, adding extensive barns in 1873. Mr. Marshall had large interests in sheep-raising, but in later years paid more attention to dairying and to grain production. Eventually he retired and rented out the farm.
Originally, he was a Whig, but after the Civil War he was faithful to the tenets and principles of the Republican party.
