General Notes: Husband - Andrew Donaldson
He came to America with his family when he was 13 years old; they settled in Cumberland County, Pennsylvania, near Newville. There he grew up, married, owned land, and was apparently ready to move on when his own son was 13 years old. He and his family left Cumberland County shortly after 1800 and settled on Slippery Rock Creek in Butler County.
There is oral history that he was one of four brothers who came with their families from Cumberland County, Pennsylvania, to Butler, Venango, and Mercer Counties. The fourth brother continued on farther west and was not heard from again.
