ACCIDENT AND DEATH. -- On Saturday last, as Esq. Domer and his son, David, of Rockland township, were engaged in working a coal vein, near their residence, the roofing of the bank fell in, crushing them both to death immediately. We are informed that a young man, whose name we have not heard, was at work at the same time, and seeing the danger, gave the alarm. He narrowly made his escape. It is said that the deceased ran against one another in their haste to get out; and at the instant, they were buried and crushed to a mass by the falling earth.
Esq. Domer was one of our most worthy and useful citizens; and his untimely and sudden decease has left a void in his neighborhood not easily to be filled. People working in such situations cannot use too much caution to ensure their safety.
