General Notes: Husband - Henry Moore

He lived in Buffalo township, Washington County, Pennsylvania, and in addition to lands taken up on Virginia certificates in that township, located others lying in what is now Franklin. A tract containing three hundred and ninety-eight acres was surveyed to him, Nov. 18, 1786, as "Battle-field."
His later years were passed in Washington, Pennsylvania, with his son Daniel. [HWC 1882, 799]

He was born in Dublin, Ireland, and was a well known physician of that city. He came to America, landing in Baltimore, Maryland, and settling in Washington County, Pennsylvania, where he bought four hundred acres of wild land and, after clearing the tract, devoted his time to farming. He lived to be eighty-four years old, and died in Washington County. [BOB37JD, 437]

He was born in or near the town of Boyle, Ireland, one hundred and eight miles northwest from Dublin. He was a physician, a freeholder, and a member of the Church of England. He immigrated to America, landing in Baltimore in the spring of 1773. He settled on a farm four miles west of Washington, Pennsylvania, in November of the same year, and began the practice of medicine. [GPHBC, 84]
