General Notes: Husband - Dr. Charles F. Daubenspeck
He grew to manhood on his father's farm near North Washington, Butler County, Pennsylvania. Studied medicine and graduated from Cleveland Medical College in the spring of 1877. Commenced to practice in Shannondale, Clarion County, Pennsylvania, then after eighteen months moved to Mercer County, Pennsylvania, where he practiced for thirteen years; then took post graduate in New York and resumed practice in Cochranton, Pennsylvania, where he practiced for seventeen years. Then moved to Butler, Pennsylvania, where he continued to practice.
He lived with his father and attended the district school until the age of seventeen years. He then taught the district school for six winters, helping his father on the farm during the summer months, until the spring of 1871, except three terms in Emlenton Academy. After 1871 he helped build oil rigs for part of three summers and helped his father on the farm during harvest, and attended Emlenton Academy after harvest, teaching the district school the winter following. He matriculated in Cleveland Medical School in 1875 and graduated from Cleveland Medical School, department of Western Reserve University of Ohio, in 1877. He commenced the practice of medicine April 1, 1877, in Shannondale, Pennsylvania.
He married and they commenced housekeeping at Shannondale in 1877, and moved to Mercer County, Pennsylvania, in the latter part of 1878, where he practiced his profession for thirteen years. He then sold his property and took a post-graduate course in New York in the winter of 1891, and in 1892 opened practice in Cochranton, Pennsylvania, where he practiced for seventeen years. He then moved to Butler, Pennsylvania.
Doctor Daubenspeck was a member of County and State and American Medical Associations. He served as president of the Cochranton First National Bank for some years; was delegate to the Democratic convention at Scranton and Harrisburg, from Mercer County and Crawford County. In politics he was a Democrat. He was affiliated with F. and A. M. No. 408, Meadville Lodge. Doctor and Mrs. Daubenspeck were members of the First Presbyterian Church, Butler, Pennsylvania.
