General Notes: Husband - John Augustus Culbertson
Edinboro, Erie Co, PA - a cabinet-maker, real estate agent
He was the first white male child born in Washington township, Erie County, Pennsylvania.
He supplemented school attendance with work on his father's farm and in his mill, and when but a lad of sixteen he went to Erie, Pennsylvania, and became apprenticed to the cabinet maker's trade, working seven years for the same man. He spent four years as a journeyman, and then in 1827 he married and returned to Edinboro, his native town, and spent the remainder of his life there, being, at that time of his death, a man of considerable wealth and one of the largest real estate owners of the village. He was a Republican politically, and was a faithful member of the Presbyterian church.
