General Notes: Husband - Samuel H. Daily

He kept a stage house in Stewartsville, Pennsylvania, on the old Pittsburgh and Philadelphia turnpike for many years, and was also engaged in farming. At the breaking out of the war of 1812-15 he enlisted for one year in Captain Joseph Markle's company of Light Dragoons, which was attached to the regiment commanded by Lieutenant-Colonel James V. Ball, and he was mustered out as sergeant in Franklintown, Ohio, August 19, 1813. He afterwards received a commission in the service and the sword which he carried later in the possession of his grandson, Charles H. F. Daily. Another family relic was a commission signed by Governor Ritner, of Pennsylvania, to Colonel Daily as justice of the peace in 1836. Colonel Daily at that time resided at Stewartsville and continued to do so until his death.
