General Notes: Husband - George Brigham Smith
He left home when he was about 18 years old. After his mother's death his father remarried, this time to a woman only eight years older than George. He didn't get along well with her.
He went first to Colorado, where he prospected unsuccessfully for gold and silver. From there he went to Argentina, Kansas, (now a part of Kansas City), and became a painter of tank cars for the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway for 25 years. After leaving there he worked for the Argentine Refinery of Sinclair Oil until retirement in 1940.
