General Notes: Husband - Charles L. Wetzel
He was educated in the public schools of Beavertown, Pennsylvania, and in Freeburg Academy under Profs. Dill and Boyer, after which he spent several terms as a student in the Normal University in Ada, Ohio. He afterward engaged in teaching in the district schools of Snyder County, Pennsylvania, for fourteen years, was for twelve years a teacher in Beavertown, one term in Troxelville, and one term in Adamsburg. He followed surveying for fifteen years or more, and was elected county surveyor of Snyder County in the fall of 1892 for a three-years' term. In 1895 he was re-elected, and in 1894 he also began filling the office of justice of the peace. He was also township auditor for nine years, and in his political affiliations he was a stanch Republican.
He belonged to the Patriotic Order Sons of America, in which he filled all the offices, and was a member of the Reformed Church.
