W. Achre, at Clarksville; Winternitz, at Greenville, and Rouseville, Venango County. He lived on his father’s farm for some time after marriage, then engaged in the butcher business for two years, and settled permanently on a farm in 1871. In 1874 he began buying horses for his brother-in-law, Charles Goubeaud, of Brooklyn, NY. He was school director, a Democrat, an officer of the Good Hope German Reformed Church, to which he and wife belong, and was also superintendent of the Sabbath-school of that organization.
