General Notes: Husband - James S. Warden
After attending the public and subscription schools of East Huntingdon township, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, he took up the occupation of farming on a part of the old home farm in East Huntingdon township. He also was interested in the production and manufacture of coal and coke, at Alverton and Tarr, Westmoreland County. He was a lifelong member of the United Presbyterian church, and for many years a ruling elder in the Mount Pleasant congregation. He took an active part in politics as a Democrat, and served one term in the state legislature for the years 1879-80. He also served as school director in East Huntingdon township and in Bridgeport Independent school district for an almost continuous period of forty years. In 1880 he sold the farm and moved to Mount Pleasant, where he resided until the time of his death. He died at Eustis, Florida, where he had gone the autumn before to avoid the cold Pennsylvania winters, his death being caused by the infirmities of age.
