He was reared in Beaver County, Pennsylvania, attended the common schools at Fallston and the academy at Beaver. After a seven years' clerkship in a grocery, he, in company with his brother, bought the Handle Works at Fallston. In April, 1887, he established a general store in Fallston.
Mr. Dickey was a Republican, and a member of the I. O. O. F.
