Civil War: He was a private, Co. K, 4th PA Vol. Cav.

He died on a Thursday afternoon, leaving a wife and seven children. Some weeks previously he had cut his kneecap with a drawknife. Erysipelas set in and was followed by gangrene which caused his death.
