A young man by the name of George Dewoody, a son of John Dewoody, of Frenchcreek Township, while hunting raccoons on Friday night, Aug. 15, was precipitated about 30 feet from a tree and was so seriously injured as to cause his death in a few minutes afterward. He was a young man, just in the prime of life.
