General Notes: Husband - Samuel Sheats
He was a lumberman in the early days, and used to burn charcoal, but during the greater part of his active career he followed the trade of stonemason, continuing it until his retirement. He lived at several places in Clarion County, PA, eventually settling at Salem, where he was established for twenty years prior to his removal to Venango County. He then lived at Oil City, where he held membership in the Evangelical Church and Hayes Post, G. A. R., being a Veteran of the Civil War, in which he served as a member of Company C, 155th Pennsylvania Regiment. In political sentiment he was a Democrat. [CAB, 1051]
