General Notes: Husband - Benjamin Alexander


He came to Mercer County, Pennsylvania, in 1816, and worked for a while for Benjamin Stokeley.
He was one of the first surveyors of Mercer County, and served two terms as county surveyor and one term as commissioner. He was a strong Republican, and an elder in the Second United Presbyterian Church.
He had six children with his first wife; only one was still living in 1888.

Upon coming to Mercer County, Pennsylvania, he settled in Findley township-about 1800. He lived and died on the farm on which he first located. The age he reached was either eighty-three or eighty-four years. Besides attending to his duties as an agriculturist, he was also a land surveyor and surveyed many tracts of land.
