He remained in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania; for eleven years was employed in the rolling-mills, subsequently became captain of a steamboat for eleven years, and then was teaming for Graft, Bennett & Co.
He and his wife were members of the M. E. Church; politically he was a republican. He voted for W. H. Harrison, the whig, and hauled two logs for the campaign cabin.
