He obtained a good common-school education, and on the home farm became familiar with the duties that fall to the lot of the agriculturist.
Politically, Mr. Lutz affiliated with the Democratic party, and was a strong and earnest advocate of its principles. For some years he held membership in the Grange.

She was a native of England, who, when five years old, was brought to the New World by her parents.
