He removed from Trimble County, Ohio, to Adams County, where his son, Daniel Crowell, was born in 1803. He was by occupation a stock broker, and dealt in stocks for a number of years, achieving excellent success in this line. He served as constable of Allenburg for eighteen or twenty years. There is much confusion about the early generations of this family. Regarding the information from the source cited above, there is no Trimble County, Ohio. There is a Trimble County, Kentucky, on the northern border of that state. Or was Trumbull County, Ohio, meant? The source does not give a state for Adams County. Adams County, Ohio, is on the southern border of that state, not far from Trimble County, Kentucky. Or was Adams County, Pennsylvania, meant? Other sources have this family located in southeast Pennsylvania, near Adams County. There is no Allenburg in Ohio, Kentucky or Pennsylvania. Perhaps Adamsburg, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, was meant?
