Whistle's Company H, Second Battalion of Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry, serving six months; was discharged January 21, 1864, at Pittsburg, at expiration of term of service, and was a member of John A. Logan Post No. 3, G. A. R., at Lafayette, Indiana.
