General Notes: Husband - John E. Hurford

He assisted his father in the management of the Pittsburg Water Cure, and later became associated with the Pennsylvania Salt Manufacturing Company. He was one of the board of directors of the Western Insurance Company, and was for twenty years a director of the Merchants and Manufacturers' National Bank, and later was a director of the Bank of Pittsburg, N. A., with which the M. and M. Bank merged. He was also a member of Chamber of Commerce of Pittsburg. For eleven years he served the borough of Bellevue as school director. While a resident of Allegheny he was one of the trustees of the Sixth United Presbyterian church of that city, and was later a member of the Presbyterian church of Bellevue.
