General Notes: Husband - William Davis

---

He was of Welsh descent, coming to America in 1831 at the age of twenty and settling as a farmer in Crawford County, PA. He was accompanied by his two brothers, who located near him. In 1834 he purchased the land in Crawford County, consisting of eighty acres, which afterward became the family homestead. His brothers assisted him in clearing it of timber and the log house which he erected was the first in that vicinity.
