General Notes: Husband - John Craig
He came to America from Ballyroney, County Down, Ireland, in 1773. He served as an apprentice cabinet-maker with his brother, Henry, who had come a short time previously and had settled in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. When the Revolutionary war came on Henry enlisted in the Pennsylvania Line, but owing to the fact that he had a family, John took his place and served for seven years until peace was signed. After John Craig had gone to the army to fight in his place, Henry Craig reenlisted and, going to the front, was never heard of again.
