General Notes: Husband - Dr. David Jameson
He was born in Scotland and emigrated to America about 1740, landing in Charleston, South Carolina. He settled in York, Pennsylvania, married, and later removed to Shippensburg, Cumberland County.
He was an officer in the French and Indian War and the Revolution.
A graduate of the Medical University of Edinburgh, Scotland, he immigrated to America about 1740, stopping first at Charleston, South Carolina, finally settling in York County, Pennsylvania. He was commissioned first as captain, then as brigade-major and lastly as lieutenant-colonel of the Provincial forces of Pennsylvania, and also held a commission as colonel of militia of Pennsylvania during the Revolutionary war. He also held civic offices by executive appointment in the county of York in 1764 and 1777. He practiced his profession many years in York. [HAC 1886, 499]
General Notes: Wife - Elizabeth Davis
She was the eldest daughter of her father. She had two sisters and one brother.
According to records, prior to May 3, 1803, she removed with her family [from York, Pennsylvania?] to Franklinton (later Columbus), Ohio.
